IPL 2021: Will Ab De Villiers Ensure Win For RCB This Year?

With the recent play of AB De Villiers at the stands that led to RCB’s win is being predicted that Bangalore may grab the trophy for IPL 2021.

Abraham Benjamin De Villiers is the former South African player who had announced his retirement from all the international platforms of cricket in 2018, since then he has been an active participant for various T20 franchises.

AB de Villiers started his journey with the Indian Premier League (IPL) career with the Delhi Daredevils franchise (now Delhi Capitals) in 2008. He made it with Delhi Daredevils for the first three IPL seasons and scored 671 total runs which included a century in the second edition. From 2011, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bought him for Rs 5 crore and the Bangalore franchise has not released him since.

And who would? The phenomenal performer has single-handedly won his team several matches in the IPL. 

Overall In 173 matches so far, he has scored 4974 Runs, swooped 403 boundaries, and a monstrous amount of 240 sixes in his bag, making him the most consistent player of IPL. 

Talk of the recent innings, the 37-year-old scored a knockout of 76 runs in 36 balls. 

Laxman praises for Ab De Villiers 

The legendary batsman of India turned commentator and mentor VVS Laxman, has also heavily lauded praises for AB De Villiers. 

“AB, of course, is just phenomenal. You think you have seen it all, and yet, year after year, he takes your breath away with his innovativeness and creativity. He doesn’t play international cricket any longer, so it’s a little short of amazing that he continues to retain his passion, zest, fitness, and appetite,” Laxman wrote in his column of Times Of India. 

Laxman further adds that De Villiers is the best at his work ethic and has “established himself as leading lights” for youngsters. 

The right-handed batsman has been a star of IPL and RCB and continues to be a vital player for Royal Challengers Bangalore this season. His strength has shown and proved Banglore’s win, ensuring that the team had a solid start with a straight 3 wins in the IPL league.

IPL 2021: BCCI May Set The Remaining Match Window From September 15 and Final On October 15
