BCCI President has just announced that IPL matches will go as scheduled and everything will go as planned with necessary covid-related precautions.  “We are keeping a close eye on the developments. We are totally committed to Covid-19 guidelines. There is no possibility to shift the matches from the five venues, including Mumbai. In fact, operations have been smooth in the two matches played so far in Wankhede without any hiccups. As per the official IPL Media Advisory released on April 9, 2021 , Chennai Superkings has appointed Jason Behrendorff as a replacement for Josh Hazlewood. Hazlewood was about to join the yellow brigade but decided to skip the league totally at the last moment. He said he would stay at home and take a rest due to covid fatigue. “It’s been a long 10 months in bubbles and quarantine at different times, so I decided to have a rest from cricket and spend some time at home and in Australia in the next two months. We’ve got a big winter ahead. The West Indies is going to be a long tour, with Bangladesh (T20 tour) potentially thrown on the end of that. Then potentially the T20 World Cup leading into the Ashes, so it’s a big 12 months,” Hazlewood had told Cricket Australia.
