Good News For Mumbai Indians— All Staff And Team Have Been Tested Negative for COVID-19

Big sigh of relief for IPL Fans that all the Mumbai Indians members plus the staff have been tested negative for novel coronavirus.

Thanks to this, the reigning champions can go strong in their first match which is scheduled to be on April 9, against Royal Challengers Bangalore in MA Chidambaram Stadium at 7:30 pm.

And Mumbai Indians will be playing most of their IPL 2021 matches in Chennai Stadiums- unlike their home grounds.

Other Players Who Have Tested Positive Or Quarantined

Axar Patel of Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians wicketkeeper Kiran Moore, Daniel Sams of RCB, have tested positive. Whereas Devdutt Padikkal of RCB and Kieron Pollard of Mumbai Indians have returned to their base camps from their quarantine periods.

The BCCI SOP(Standard Operating Procedure) says a player who tests positive for Covid, must isolate in the prescribed area outside the bio-secure environment for a minimum of 10 days from the date of positive reports of the said member or staff.

Days before, a report from The Hindu claimed  8 Wankhede groundstaff were tested +ve for coronavirus at the stadiums.

Mumbai is set to host a total of 10 matches from April 10-25,  and with cases hiking in Maharashtra, the IPL management has started to feel wary and everyone is waiting with their fingers crossed that this season would pass without any hindrance by the coronavirus.

Since March, India has been facing a huge rise in coronavirus cases, experts and researchers have been calling it the second wave of covid. However, BCCI has assured people that IPL will be conducted as per the schedule which is on April 9.
