Covid 19 Protocols set by Cricket Australia For BBL10

 Among the rising fears of pandemic breaking out in the states, Cricket Australia is doing everything it can to protect their most successful league, The Big Bash League that started in December 2020. The governing body has thus far set many restrictions to prevent the outbreak from ruining the gaming experience of the 10Th edition.


Here are some rules that they have imposed:

  • Prohibited from Dining Out

The Big Bash League have also been prohibited from dining out in public, the stricter guidelines had put in place by Cricket Australia to safeguard BBL team players from meeting with the public personally, even in the relatively safe states like Queensland.

Fresh protocols also include a ban on players dining out in both indoor and outdoor places. However, players and staff members are still allowed to pick up takeaway food if it has been pre-ordered but they are banned to do so in their team uniforms.

  • No Haircuts

The fresh outbreak at Sydney, Australia made the governing body and the officials impose another ban for the players of BBL. According to the Queensland CA Hub documents released on December 21, 2020, read "personal appointments like haircuts were no longer allowed for the players of Big Bash League"

  • Closure of state borders

Cricket Australia is confident that it can get KFC Big Bash League players into the stadiums and can continue the games without any restrictions as needed over in Western Australia's border because of COVID-19 cases spiking up in Melbourne, WA is set to host many matches of BBL, but the cases have increased the doubts in state officials mind, of whether they should close the borders or not. 

While strict decisions have been made by the cricketing board to keep the players and other personnel safe, CA has received consistent backlashes for inflicting confusing and dramatic protocols while the others enjoy the freedom. 

Several players like Steve Smith Tom Curran and many others had already pulled out from the Big Bash League altogether, due to the stricter restrictions and fatigue of bio-secure bubbles. It remains to be seen, however, how long and how strict Cricket Australia can thrust the players in the strict rule game and simultaneously keeping them happy. IPL 2021: BCCI May Set The Remaining Match Window From September 15 and Final On October 15

The cash-rich league midway through the season in the first week of May had gotten postponed indefinitely because of the rising cases of the pandemic Notably, there are 31 games still remaining, and thankfully, BCCI had reached the decision to conduct the remaining leg of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League at United Arab Emirates (UAE).
