IPL AUCTION 2021: Released Players Stand and Additional Updates

Many Star players are in a Tug of War after the retentions list has been announced, franchises are now eyeing their opportunities weighing their balance of middle-order strength of who should be chosen who should be traded off and what strategy to maintain to support their respective squads.

The players that may get abandoned

1. First is the left arm bowler Sheldon Cottrell from Jamaica who had been purchased by Kings XI for 8.5 crores in the previous season. However, the form wasn't on his side and he wound up getting only 6 wickets from the 6 matches he was featured in.

2. Kedar Jadhav an eye-pleaser back in 2018 for CSK but since then his form has dipped to an average of less than 100. His score 62 runs at an average of 20 for the 2020 edition it is said that his innings from this IPL might be over.

3. Spin bowler all-rounder Moeen Ali was released by RCB, did quite well with the bat but not so well the bowl to be appropriate for the "all-rounder" title.

4. Jimmy Neesham released by Kings XI was brought to show the same explosion he brings for his native New Zealand team however he could manage only 19 runs of 5 matches he played.

The Players That Can Spark A Bidding War

1. Piyush Chawla with 156 wickets with an economy of 7.87 released by CSK but has been known to be a behemoth of IPL.

2. Glenn Maxwell released by Kings XI created a big shock and an opportunity to take him by another franchise, he can also be the most expensive player this season as the rumor goes.

3. Chriss Morris was released by RCB has 140+kmph with a ball and has the ability to change the game.

4. Steve Smith captain of RR was released surprisingly and created a big shock, he needs no credentials as he has been the star of cricket.

5. S. Sreesanth was infamously banned and though his career has been modest, his aggressive strides with bowl and pace will be on the minds of the franchise.

What The respective Squads need now

CSK- Many positions are emptied from the whistle podu army. And the franchise is ready to fill up the yellow brigade as they have released big names like Harbhajan Singh, Chawla, and Jadhav. They will look for players who will strengthen their middle order. Chennai also does not have a specialist offspinner and with Jadhav gone they are looking for someone to take loads off the Jadeja at the middle order. Rumour says that we might see Glenn Maxwell or Steve Smith playing for CSK.

RCB- Royal Challengers Bangalore has a huge gap to fill as well after releasing so many players like Finch and Morris. They have a total of 13 slots to fill, so they are also eyeing players like Smith to fill the space for middle and opening orders.

DC- The Capitals needs a wicketkeeper right now because Carey who was injured has been released, they will look for an Indian gloveman and also more overseas backups to strengthen the squad.

RR-From the trading window, Rajasthan Royal was the first to trade Robin Uthappa to Chennai Super Kings. Rajasthan Royals has also released Steve Smith their captain, in his place they have appointed Sanju Samson as their new young captain. Ben Strokes is the premium all-rounder for the team too, but they need someone to lessen the load on them.

KKR- Kolkata Knight Riders captain Gautam Gambhir was found surprised when player Kuldeep Yadav was retained he expressed that he was hoping for Yadav to play for some other franchise as he wasn’t getting a chance in his.

KXIP- With Maxwell gone, they need a specialist gunner to perform well for the batting team, Punjab has Arshdeep Singh and Chris Jordan but they need other bowlers who can bowl death overs, they also do not have specialist spinners to back up their existing players.

Lastly, The venue for the tournament itself is not decided yet; where India likely will be the favored venue for this year's IPL and the budget, an update regarding this will be issued shortly by BCCI Officials.
