The India vs. England 1st ODI is set to begin at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. After winning both the Tests and the T20s India is all set to lock horns with the host again to sweep the finals and take all the tournament under the noses of the England team.


If one would be brimming with confidence the other- visitors would be on the lookout to take revenge. Both the Test series and the T20I leg for England had convincing starts but fell away towards the end of the matches as Kohli led side bounced back with their incredible strength against the whole English unit. 

 A spot in the ICC World Test Championship Final has been lost, along with a cut-to-cut T20I series title, England will now turn to ODI to chance their luck in this long set tournament. The world champions and No.1 team in this format, Eoin Morgan's men have to sort out few issues in the team compositions. While Sam Billings provides them with a high amount of utility, they have to find someone to fill the absence of Joe Root in the team.

India has also brought in two debutants in its playing 11 for ODI. Left-arm spinner Krunal Pandya and pacer Prasidh Krishna to play their first debut game today at Pune stadium.

According to Ajith Agarkar and Deep Dasgupta, the pitch is very good for batting. The surface of the pitch is firm, it will be good for pacers to carry. So batters can be on the lead and the wind is said to pick the dew away in the evening at the Pune cricket ground.

Kohli-led team India has made some changes in this ODI. Shikhar Dhawan is all set to return as an opener after the peaceful benches in the last few matches. KL Rahul is going to play in the middle order and will be taking the job of wicket keeping from Rishab Pant.

Toss: Morgan has won the toss and elected to bowl first.
