IPL 2021: BCCI May Set The Remaining Match Window From September 15 and Final On October 15
The cash-rich league midway through the season in the first week of May had gotten postponed indefinitely because of the rising cases of the pandemic
Notably, there are 31 games still remaining, and thankfully, BCCI had reached the decision to conduct the remaining leg of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League at United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Initially, BCCI had kept the league for shorter durations, but taking into condition September's searing heat in Dubai, they are hoping to push the finale to 15th or 18th October
The decision taken is to decrease the number of doubleheaders as players could suffer in the extreme heat of the UAE during the afternoon matches. BCCI is still in discussion with the required officials and may announce the verdict soon.
According to reports of ANI, BCCI, and the ECB (Emirates Cricket Board) discussions had gone well and we can now be confident of IPL's remaining leg will be played securely in Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi.
"The discussions went really well and with ECB already giving us the oral nod to host the event ahead of the BCCI SGM, it was about closing the deal over the last week. The first game after the season resumes will be held on September 19 while we will have the final on October 15. The BCCI was always keen on a 25-day window to finish the remaining matches," the official said.
Foreign Players May Miss The League Altogether
It is expected that quite a lot of players are going to miss the remaining matches of the IPL.
Notably, the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2021, is scheduled to hold from August To September 19. Hence due to the clash, the West Indian Players may keep a distance. On the other hand, English players won't be able to participate in the IPL either, the availability of New Zealand as well Australian players are also deemed uncertain for now.
IPL was one of the best and far more exciting sports event I've ever bet to! I remember most of my online egames felt the same way too!
